Improv Theatre Sports

Comedy, improvisation, theatre, and sports all rolled into one! Role-playing and creative games help students build body awareness, gain confidence and teamwork skills. Our young actors will learn to create characters stories on the spot, then share those skills, complete with audience involvement, on the last day of class. |

Can Shakespeare be silly? You bet! Students will explore how funny Shakespeare's plays can be by exploring the themes and characters of ‘Twelfth Night.’ Use of storytelling, improvisation, theater games, stage fighting techniques, costumes, props, and music culminates in a final performance of scenes from the play. We take Shakespeare off the page and put him on the stage! |
American Girl

Do you love the American Girl dolls? The book series? This class, based on the American Girl books, concentrates on one of the historical characters, where students learn the history of the time period, do craft projects, and rehearse a play based on one of the books! What a fun way to discover American History!
The final performance will be in the theatre on November 22nd. Students will need to be at the theatre at 1pm, the performance will be that day at 2:30pm. In order to participate in the class students will need to attend the final performance. |

Learn the skills of auditioning for musical theatre. This class, taught by an acting teacher and a music teacher, will cover how to present oneself professionally in an audition situation; how to choose and prepare a monologue and 16 bars of a song. Ideal for the student who is anticipating auditioning for any upcoming spring musical or play. Students will leave this class with audition material to use for their next big audition! |

A company of teens come together to write, rehearse and perform 4 ten-minute plays all in 24 hours! On Feb. 27th at 6pm, they meet and write down themes. One theme is drawn and the playwrights go home and write a ten-minute play based on that theme. The scripts are due at 7am, and shortly thereafter the actors and directors meet and begin rehearsing. Performances are that evening at 7pm! Crazy? Yes. Intense? Yes. FUN? Oh, yes!! |
