Mark Chenovick, Executive Director

Since graduating from the University of Washington, Mark has traveled the United States, Canada, and South Caribbean performing various theatrical vocations ranging from Production Manager/Technical Director for the national tour of "Anything Goes starring Gloria Loring" to Dance Captain/Tenor aboard the SeaWind Crown cruise ship. Extended engagements along the way also included; the Studio Theatre in Washington DC, Virginia Musical Theatre in Virginia Beach, Norfolk's Governor's School for the Arts, Little Theatre of the Rockies in Greeley, Colorado, Grandstreet Theatre in Helena Montana, Utah State University in Logan Utah, Fort Peck Summer Theatre, the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Auburn New York, and the Nebraska Theatre Caravan based in Omaha Nebraska.

Upon returning to Seattle in 2000, Mark took a position with Blayden Design/Build, where he was actively involved with the Master Builder’s Association of King and Snohomish Counties (serving on the Remodelers Council Executive Board and Home Tour Committees). In 2006 he joined the Board of Directors for Showtunes! Theatre Company and served as Development Director/PR Manager (and occasional Light Designer) until 2009.

Currently, owns and operates CJS design (design and webhosting company) and serves as webmaster for SeattleActor.com. Mark has performed at many of the local theaters in the Puget Sound area and has been seen onstage at; The Village Theatre, The 5th Avenue Theatre, SecondStory Rep, Tacoma Actors Guild, Bellevue Civic Theatre, Classics Unlimited, Seattle Civic Light Opera, Showtunes! Theatre Company and Redwood Theatre.

Corey McDaniel, Artistic Director

Corey is a Seattle based director, actor, and teaching artist. Originally from Texas, his career began as a dancer with the Lone Star Ballet.  As an actor he has worked throughout the US and internationally with credits ranging from stage to television to the big screen.   His performance experiences have placed him in such reputable arenas as the Fox Theatres, the Hollywood Bowl, Theatro Sistina in Rome, and the Metropolitan Opera House of NYC.  As a director, Corey has staged a wide variety of productions throughout Southern California, Japan and the Puget Sound Region.

While working as a touring dancer for pre-Broadway Disney Theatricals and Buena Vista he doubled as an on-set acting coach for teens and young adults in Hollywood. He was a director and assistant choreographer for Children’s Theatre Experience (CTE) for seven years working with young performers throughout Southern California. Corey aided in the creation of the professional actor training programs at The Actors Spot and Warner Laughlin Studios where he continued on as a staff instructor.  Corey has spent numerous years overseas performing and sharing American arts educational programs with foreign countries.  He has directed, performed and taught in Chihuahua & Mexico City, Mexico, Toronto, Canada, Rome, Italy, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Nagoya, Japan, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.   Since moving to Seattle, Corey has also worked with several local companies, worked in PR, development and marketing. He spent two and half years as the education director for GreenStage prior to stepping into the role of interim education director at SSR in September of 2011.  He is also a charter member and 2011 Chair of the TPS Gregory Awards.

Samantha Holsworth, Director of Education

Samantha grew up in the Theater, and has been performing since she was 8. She graduated from Florida State University's School of Theater in 2009 with her BA In Theater. She is also a 2008 graduate of Theater Academy London, where she studied dialects, playwriting, and Shakespeare. From 2009 - 2010 she was the Education Director of Pensacola Little Theater in her hometown of Pensacola, FL. After spending the year teaching 8 classes a week for all ages, developing new programs, and directing/managing the grant-funded Beyond Boundaries outreach program, as well as working with the Southeastern Teen Shakespeare Co. and the Lab Rats Junior Improv Troupe,  she decided it would be fantastic to pack it all up and move to the West Coast just to see what the fuss was all about. Since arriving in Seattle in August 2010, she has worked at Village Theater KIDSTAGE, Broadway Bound Children's Theater, Seattle Musical Theater, and is happy to have found an artistic family here at SecondStory Rep. She has a special love for Shakespeare, Beckett, and improv comedy. She directed SecondStory's Youth Workshop production of Dear Edwina, Jr in the summer of 2011, and will be directing The Dancing Princess in spring 2012. Favorite past productions as a director or designer include Never The Sinner, Alexander and the The Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day; The Musical!, Comedy of Errors, andThe Lion In Winter. Favorite onstage appearances include Chicago, Nunsense, The Goat: Or, Who Is Sylvia, Alice In Wonderland, and Victor/Victoria.

Jen Klos, Production Manager

Jen began stage managing at the tender age of ten. Growing up in Redmond, she continued to stage manage shows during high school and was introduced through her drama teacher to SecondStory Repertory where she received her first professional job at the age of seventeen. She also had internships with 5th Avenue and Village Theatre. Jen moved to California for a year in 2006 where she stage managed for The Blank Theatre Company, working with actors such as Noah Wyle and Nicholas Brendan and in addition, stage managed with Syzygy Theatre Group, producing the American premiere of Tender. In 2007 she moved back to Washington and became Production Manager for SecondStory Repertory.
