Bayou Bugs
Book and Lyrics by P. Haines-Ainsworth
Original songs by Larry Bridges
Additional songs and musical arrangement by Terry Alaric Levitt

Bayou Bug Tales is based on the fable of the ant and the grasshopper, but includes many other buggy creatures from the bayou.  The score is full of fun and toe-tapping songs and colorful characters. The main theme of the show is about change and how, even though change can be scary, it is part of growing and living.

Eric Hartley (Horatio) is pleased to start the year at SSR and their Theater for Young Audiences program!  Eric last appeared at SSR in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, most recently he was featured in the RCT productions of She Loves Me, The 39 Steps, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.  Eric has played a bear, gerbil, turkey, and dragon; Bayou Bug Tales is his first time on stage as a grasshopper.

Britt Boyd (Tilly) is delighted to be spending her winter in the bayou following a lovely autumn in the city as the Pigeon in Knuffle Bunny.  No stranger to TYA audiences, Britt has also been seen handing out prescriptions for green food as SecondStory's resident pediatrician (Pinkalicious), spinning verses in silver sparkles (Snow White and the Seven Dwarves), telling amphibious tales (The Frog Prince), leading a barnyard Motown trio (Duck for President) and teasing her brother, announcing cats and eating villages (Puss in Boots).  Grown-ups have seen her work at Seattle Public Theatre, STAGEright, Seattle Musical Theatre, and Village Theatre.  By day, Britt can be found illuminating young minds through her teaching artist work with Seattle Children's Theatre and a number of private schools.  Next up: A Little Night Music on SecondStory's mainstage (sorry kids - grown-ups only!).  For Michael.

SecondStory Repertory’s mission is to entertain, educate, and enlighten the diverse communities of artists and audiences on Seattle’s Eastside.
