Fri & Sat Nights at 8pm, Sun June 12 & 19 at 2pm
Directed by Scott Francis
Norman
and Ethel spend every summer at their
lake house in Maine.
When their daughter visits one year, she
brings a boyfriend and his son
along – hoping her parents will look
after the boy while she and her
fiancé go off traveling. A heartwarming
play about relationships that
sometimes take a lifetime to unfold.
THE CAST
Floyd Reichman (Norman
Thayer)
Floyd is tickled
nine shades of pink to be making his
SecondStory Debut. He is a veteran
performer, with some seventy odd
productions to his credit, including
stage, screen, and television, in such
areas as New York, New Jersey,
Minnesota, Virginia, as well as here in
Evergreen country. His last major
project was a featured role (H.G. Wells)
in a new film, War of the Worlds: the
True Story, produced by none other
than Pendragon Pictures. It is estimated
for TV release shortly. Some of his
favorite stage roles include Willie in
Sunshine Boys, Serebriakov in
Uncle Vanya, Lenny in Rumors,
Stage Manager in Our Town, Ernest
in Bedroom Farce, Grandpa in
You Can’t Take it With You, and
others. He is a past Board member of
Theater Puget Sound (TPS), and is now a
Board member of Seattle Public Theater.
When not “trodding the boards”, his
other interests include aviation,
playing his cello, growing orchids, and
being a fair to middlin' cook.
Adina Gillett (Chelsea Thayer)
is thrilled to be
making her first appearance on the
SecondStory stage in such a wonderful
production. An improviser at heart,
Adina has been a proud company member of
Wing-It Productions for 12 years, and
has performed with Jet City Improv more
times than anyone would care to count!
She has also created, directed, and
performed in multiple full-length
improvised plays such as Lovetanic,
Lease – Seattle’s Own Rock Opera,
CUT!, and Inferno. Adina
has also enjoyed performing and touring
with Book-It All Over, most recently in
The Prince of the Pond. A
passionate believer in pursuing what you
love, Adina would like to thank Donnie
for his unyielding support, and helping
her continue in her quest to prove that
there is no whole story
Max Harris (Billy Ray Jr.)
just finished up
the musical 13 with CORE and had
a blast. He is very excited to be
performing for SSR. His previous credits
include, The Best Christmas Pageant
Ever, Bathhouse;
The Full Monty,
US Village Theater; Suessical Jr,
SCT; A Christmas Carole, Cascade
Community Theater and Once On This
Island SCT. He is enjoying the
theater tremendously and looks forward
to many more productions throughout the
area. Max will be entering High School
next year in Duvall WA.
Eileen McCann (Ethel Thayer)
Raised in
Brooklyn, New York, Eileen, having moved
to northern California, became a mother
of two, a psychotherapist, an author,
and later studied acting. She retired
and moved to Seattle in 2007, and has
since become a grandmother. Her favorite
roles, prior to being Ethel, were in
Night by Pinter, My Left Breast
by Susan Miller, and Maggie in The
Shadow Box by Michael Cristofer. She
is delighted to be part of this
excellent cast, privileged to be
directed by Scott Francis, and so happy
that she now lives in the Northwest! I
want to thank my children and my dear
friends for their love and support.
Jesse Putnam (Bill Ray)
is delighted to be
part of SecondStory Rep's production of
On Golden Pond (which is based on
the actual Great Pond in Belgrade, Maine
where Jesse spent most of his youthful
summers). Jesse has performed in several
regional plays, most recently as Heck
Tate in Attic Theater's production of
To Kill A Mockingbird. His play
Super Tuesday ran at Burien Little
Theatre in April. Jesse thanks the cast
and crew of On Golden Pond for
their camaraderie and hard work.
Rick Wright (Charlie)
is very excited to
have been asked to participate in his
very first SecondStory Rep show. He has
been acting and directing and sweeping
theater floors all around the Puget
Sound area for over thirty years, most
often at the Historic Everett Theatre,
Edge of the World, and the Phoenix
Theatre where he is currently the
Technical Director. Favorite roles
include Scrooge -Christmas Carol,
Mr. Potter - It's a Wonderful Life,
Limping Man - Fuddy Meers,
Man - Veronica's Room, Glan
Cooper - Rumors, and the list
goes on. Thanks to my beautiful
wife of 30 years for letting me "play"
and special thanks to the cast and crew
of this wonderful show for making me
feel so welcome.
