Picasso at the Lapin Agile
Directed by Dan Posluns
Written by comedy legend Steve Martin, Picasso at the Lapin Agile imagines a meeting between two of history's greatest minds, Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso, in a Paris cafe in 1904. The provocative, absurd comedy pits art and science against commercialism in a debate on the nature of genius that's both thought-provoking and funny. The play premiered in 1994 to rave reviews, and has since become a staple of modern American theater.

Jalyn Green (Sagot) is thrilled to be back so soon on the Secondstory stage after playing Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol.  Previously Jalyn directed a production of Picasso at the University of Washington.  This has always been one of his favorite plays and he couldn't be more pleased to be part of such a talented cast and crew.  For Chris and Sarah Emerson.

Dennis McCabe (Gaston) Dennis received his dramatic training at the University of Washington where he is currently employed. He is excited to be performing at SecondStory Repertory for the first time. He would like to thank his wife Kay for her pioneering work in Act-Anon, a support group for partners of theatrical workers.  A special thanks also to his daughters Mary and Lena for making him a grandfather five times over.

Matt Fulbright (Picasso) is thrilled to be working on another SSR Production! A California native and a graduate of the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, Matt has called Seattle his home for nearly four years now. Being a Steve Martin fan, and very fond of this play in particular, Matt is incredibly proud to be playing the role of Picasso. Past Seattle theater credits include Holiday of Errors (Sound Theater Company), The Bacchae (GreenStage), Wild Party! (STC), Dogg's Hamlet/Cahoot's MacBeth (STC), Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet (Book-It Repertory Theater), The Illusion (STC), Sally and Thor Save the World at Summer Camp (Balagan Theater), The Twilight Zones Live! (Theater Schmeater), Chicago (SSR), Owen Meany's Christmas Pageant (Book-It), and The Revenger's Tragedy and The Tempest (GreenStage). Matt would like to end his bio with a special Thank you to his talented and supportive girlfriend, Elinor Gunn.

Brittany Cox (Suzanne, Countess, Admirer) is thrilled to be back at SecondStory after taking a hiatus to do some film and voiceover work. Some favorite past roles include Meredith in “5 Women Wearing the Same Dress”, Sooze in “SubUrbia”, Marie in “Is He Dead?”, and Constanze in “Amadeus”. Thanks for coming out and supporting this wonderful theater and these amazing artists! Love to Ryan and Smokie-bear, the wonder dog!

Dan Davidson (Freddy) Dan is very excited to be performing for the first time with SecondStory Rep! Dan is a theater artist living in Seattle, WA originally from Cincinnati, OH by way of Los Angeles, CA and Missoula, MT. Dan settled in the Pacific NW after touring Missoula Children's Theatre all over the country & internationally. Last seen as a Club Kid in the production of Sex, Drugs, Death Disco: The Michael Alig at ReBar in Seattle- Dan also works on & offstage in & around many Children's Theaters in the area and also has an alter ego by the name of Sparkle Leigh (of the Comedy web series: Sister Leigh Love)- on YOUTube & Facebook! Dan holds a B.F.A. in Dramatic Performance from the University of Cincinnati College- Conservatory of Music. Love & thanks to all my Seattle friends who are my family! Enjoy the show!

Adrienne MacIain (Germaine) is thrilled to be back in the saddle after her "dramatic pause" during which she made a human being. From scratch! She is especially over the moon to be playing Germaine, who is basically her alter ego, and here at SecondStory, where she's been spied as Gertrude in The Underpants (another hilarious Steve Martin comedy) and Little Becky Two Shoes in Urinetown. She couldn't hope to conjure up a more talented cast and crew to bring this brilliant gem of a play to life, and she can hardly wait to make you laugh until your abs ache.

Chazz Kaskes (Schmendiman) is an eastside native who has been working on and off stage for six years. This is Chazz's second production with Second Story Rep, previously in Tartuffe. He has also been seen in the Greater Tuna, and the roles such as Daisy (Baby with the Bathwater) in Woodinville Rep. His most notable work though, is at the Market Theater with the Seattle Theatresports, as Seattle's youngest professional improviser. Chazz hopes that you enjoy the show thoroughly, while also very excited for the many icebox jokes that wait you!

Dan Posluns (Director) makes his mainstage directorial debut at SecondStory following his direction of Going Out (staged reading) and assistant-direction of Amadeus. Recent directorial credits include Final Fantasy: The Improvised Adventures (Unexpected Productions), with other directing and production credits dating back to a time over a decade ago when he ran the Little Dreams Theatre Company in Toronto, Canada. Extensive thanks go out to Mark and Jen for their trust, commitment to his vision and untiring efforts in producing the show; to a cast of unrivaled skill and dedication to comedic storytelling; to Steve Martin for penning such a dazzling and unique script; and to his wife Elizabeth for keeping him mostly sane.

Sean McKay (Stage Manager) is thrilled to return to SSR as a stage manager once again, after having back surgery.  Yes, he’s one of few bionic stage managers now!  He last stage managed here for Amadeus, but his latest stints were with Godspell last spring and The Unexpected Guest this past fall with Driftwood Players in Edmonds.  He is pleased to work with Dan as a director/SM team finally, since he has stage managed him twice (Underpants and Urinetown, both at SSR), and been his stage manager for his Asst. Director with Amadeus.  Thanks for bringing me aboard and trusting me all these years, Dan!  And thanks to Jen and Mark for continuing to trust him as a stage manager!  When not working theater, he can be found at home, staffing a few online games, and tending to the whims of his wife and his two cats.
