Catherine (Fredrika) is thrilled to be back at SecondStory Repertory after playing Amy in Little Women and Young Rapunzel in Rapunzel. Favorite credits include: Getting Near to Baby (Little Sister) at Seattle Children's Theatre Mainstage, Into the Woods (Little Red) at Mount Baker Theatre, Annie (Annie) and Charlotte's Web (Fern) at YTN, and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Susan) at Attic Theatre. Shelly Traverse (Quintet) recently moved to Seattle from New York City. She has performed in opera and musical theater across the country in Maine, New York, Texas, Colorado, Ohio, Vermont, and Oregon. Favorite roles include Amy in Little Women the opera, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Annie in Annie Get Your Gun. Shelly has degrees in vocal performance from Oberlin Conservatory and the Manhattan School of Music. She most recently performed in A Christmas Carol at SecondStory Rep and is now excited to be performing one of her favorite musicals by her favorite composer!

Elias Traverse (Quintet Tenor) is a recent transplant from New York City and is delighted to be making his Northwest debut with SecondStory Repertory. After graduating with a degree in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory, Elias went on to sing with multiple opera companies and organizations around the country, including Central City Opera, Opera Saratoga, and Opera North. His hobbies include all things wine related, playing with his kitten Samson, and cooking with his wife Shelly.

Kristin Burch (Petra) is thrilled to be making her debut on the SecondStory Repertory stage with this wonderful show! Recent roles: Christine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (SMT), Nancy in Oliver! (CP), Roxie in Chicago (TMP). She also played Anybodies/Maria (u/s) in the International Tour of West Side Story. Kristin has a BFA in Theater from Pacific Lutheran University (GO LUTES!) Tristan Carruthers (Henrick) is ecstatic to be making his SecondStory Rep debut! He graduated from Western Washington University with a BM in Vocal Performance and BA in Theatre Arts. Recent credits include: Dickon in Secret Garden (Kitsap Forest), Yonkers in Gypsy (SMT), Paul in Company (MBT), and Baker in Into the Woods (MBT). Tristan wants to thank SSR and everyone involved with Night Music for this wonderful opportunity, and as always, love to my family and friends for their support!!!

Josh Krupke (Carl-Magnus) is pleased to return to SecondStory for a third time, having previously been seen in Much Ado About Nothing (Don Pedro) and Amadeus (Baron Van Sweiten). He's also been seen with Village Theatre (Big River, The Producers, Jesus Christ Superstar, etc.), Harlequin Productions (Jesus Christ Superstar, As You Like It), GreenStage (King John, Romeo and Juliet) and many other companies throughout the Puget Sound region. Josh sends love and thanks to God, Lorrie, Mom, and Dad.

Sharry O’Hare (Mdm. Armfeldt) was recently seen as Miss Hannigan in "Annie" at TMP. She also appeared in the 2 person play "6 Dance Lessons in 6 Weeks" at TLT alongside her husband, Micheal. Offstage, she is a published writer, avid needlewoman and "Mom" to 3 canine cuties. Sharry played Desiree in 1987 and is delighted to make a "Night Music" comeback as her mother. Gratitude to Chris and Paul for the gift of this beautiful work of theatrical art.

Micheal O’Hara (Frederic) performed the role of Tateh in TMP's "Ragtime" and Michael Minnetti in "6 Dance Lessons in 6 Weeks." Micheal wears multiple theater hats including singer, actor, dancer, director and set designer. During the day, he is Owner/Operator of Glassworks in Gig Harbor. In 1984, he was featured as Henrik in this musical and now returns as his father in this production. Special thanks to Chris and Paul for the opportunity to be in such an incredible tour de force.

Jennifer Littlefield (Desiree) A newcomer to SSR, Jenn's local credits include 110 in the Shade (Lizzie), The Producers (choreographer), and Guys and Dolls (Adelaide) at Seattle Musical Theatre; I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (Woman) and The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Drood) at Renton Civic Theater; and Blithe Spirit (Elvira) at Tacoma Little Theatre. Outside the theater world, Jenn dissects and processes donor tissue for transplant.

Doug Fahl (Quintet) last performed at SecondStory in Bunnicula. He’s worked with several companies in the past 20 years including Village Theatre; Seattle Repertory Theatre; ArtsWest; StageRIGHT; Annex Theatre; and Seattle Musical Theatre. On screen, Doug garnished some international attention, starring in comedy-horror film “Zombies of Mass Destruction”. Additionally, Doug has featured roles in several independent other feature films. He wishes to thank Chris and Paul for another opportunity to set foot on the boards!

Beaven Walters (Quintet) SSR debut! Beaven is delighted to finally mark "performing in A Little Night Music" off her bucket list. Favorite roles include Cinderella in Into the Woods, Maria in The Sound of Music, Rosa Bud in Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Martha Jefferson in 1776. However, Beaven's favorite role is being mom to three wonderful children, Sophie, Scooter, and Maisy. Thanks to her family, friends, and husband Mark, for all the love and support.

Becca Orts (Anne) is honored and delighted to have been trusted with this role. She first appeared at SecondStory Repertory all the way back in Season 4, as Fredrika in A Little Night Music. Becca is beyond excited to revisit this show as an adult, and with such a spectacular group of people. Favorite roles include Nellie (South Pacific), Princess Fiona (Shrek: The Musical), Kira (Xanadu), Janet (Rocky Horror Show), Violet (Side Show) and Sally Bowles (Cabaret). Britt Boyd (Quintet) is delighted to revisit SSR’s mainstage after creating a slew of crazy characters in their Theater for Young Audiences series. Favorite local credits include The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods (Seattle Musical Theatre), Mrs. Armstrong in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Seattle Public Theatre) and Martha in The Secret Garden (Kitsap Forest Theater). She has also performed locally with Village Theatre, ACT, Living Voices, Theater Schmeater and STAGEright. By day, Britt introduces young minds to theater as a teaching artist! For Michael.

Chip Wood (Frid) joined the Puget Sound theater community after a move from North Texas in October. He most recently played Axel in The Nerd at CenterStage. Favorite past roles include Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar at Ovation Musical Theater, William Murdoch in Titanic, King Arthur in Spamalot, and Roger Sherman in 1776, all at Lyric Stage; Smudge in Forever Plaid and Gordon in Rent, both at Theater Arlington, and Curly in Oklahoma at MainStage Irving.

Jenny Vaughn Hall (Charlotte) is making her SSR Mainstage debut. She was most recently seen as Mrs. Pinkerton in Pinkalicious at SSR. Jenny is a recent transplant from Southern California where she enjoyed roles in "The Pajama Game" and "Cole" with Downey Civic Light Opera. In addition to being silly onstage, she also founded a theater company in South Los Angeles where both inner city kids and professional actors were cast in original plays that explored themes of race, class and faith. Laughing and making art with kids are some of her favorite things to do in life.

MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM

Christopher Nardine (Director/Choreographer) has been directing, choreographing and performing throughout much of the United States for 40 years. He received his BFA in music and B.S. in education from the University of Connecticut and has taught music, dance and musical theater since 1971. Directing and choreography credits include Chicago at SecondStory Rep, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and A Streetcar Named Desire (Theatre Northwest Group), 110 in the Shade, Guys and Dolls and Cabaret (Seattle Musical Theatre), Hello, Dolly and Annie Get Your Gun (Tacoma Little Theatre), Orpheus in the Underworld, The Daughter of the Regiment, and A Turk in Italy (Tacoma Opera), The Merry Widow, and Die Fledermaus (Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan), Singin' In the Rain, and Grease (Auburn Dinner Theatre), Cinderella (Village Theatre), I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Renton Civic Theatre) and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (CentreStage Theatre). In addition, Chris was Artistic Director for Sapphire Productions, has staged shows for nightclubs and television, and judged state theater competitions in Washington, Oregon and California.

Paul Linnes (Music Director) has been critically acclaimed as having a “sonorous voice” that is “remarkable for the clarity and vigor of its lower range.” He has performed principal roles in many operas, including two world premieres, and been a soloist in concert works with orchestras throughout the West Coast and Far East, including international tours as a featured soloist with the Roger Wagner Chorale. Other activities have included recordings with the Roger Wagner Chorale and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the motion picture soundtracks for Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Jurassic Park under the direction of John Williams, Ghost Rider (2007), and various video game titles including Halo and Age of Empires. Mr. Linnes was twice a regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and San Francisco Opera Center Auditions, a National Scholarship Winner in the Bel Canto Foundation National Opera Auditions, past winner of the Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside’s annual competition in Seattle, and a former Principal Artist in Residence with Opera San José. He has also sung in numerous languages; aside from the traditional musical languages, he has performed in Armenian, Hebrew, Japanese and Korean. Mr. Linnes received his BA in Music from California State University, Hayward, including conducting studies with Dr. Denis DeCoteau, former Music Director and conductor for the San Francisco Ballet. He received his MM in Vocal Performance (Opera) from the University of Southern California, and is a former student of famed Metropolitan Opera bass Giorgio Tozzi. In addition to maintaining a private voice studio, he also teaches private voice at Roosevelt High School as part of their drama program and is regularly invited to adjudicate vocal competitions. He has appeared frequently as Musical Director/Pianist for numerous productions and theater companies throughout the Puget Sound region and is also a founding member of the UW’s Advisory Board in the Performing Arts. While performing on stage or in the studio are not things he has much time to pursue anymore, he absolutely loves the “intersection of disciplines” which music direction in the theater provides.

Damon Muller (Stage Manager)

Jen Chenovick (Light Design) Jen's theatrical career began in 2002 when she was asked to assistant stage manage The Importance of Being Ernest right here at SSR. Following her passion for theater Jen moved to Hollywood in 2005 where she stage managed for The Blank Theatre including the oddly satisfying Lobster Alice starring Noah Wylie and Nicholas Brendon. While in California, she also worked with Syzygy Theatre Group and the World Premiere of Tender, Abi Morgan’s trenchant drama of the human hunger for connection. Jen moved back to Redmond in 2007 and jumped right back into her work with SSR. During her eighteen plus years at SSR Jen has worn many hats, from stage manager to production manager to managing director and now light design. Special thanks to my parents, they’re pretty cool.

Mark Chenovick (Set Design/Technical Director) has been designing, building, and painting sets since the mid-eighties. Having the fortune to begin his theatrical career under the tutelage of Don McLaughlin in his hometown of Helena Montana, Mark continued his training at the University of Washington where he was accepted into the Graduate Design Seminar his sophomore year. With subsequent degrees in Art History and Drama, Mark went on to serve as technical director/designer for multiple organizations including: Virginia Musical Theatre, Fort Peck Summer Theatre, the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Little Theater of the Rockies, and the Norfolk Governor’s School for the Arts. As Technical Director/Production Manager of the national tour of Anything Goes (starring Gloria Loring) Mark travelled around the United States and Canada realizing that there is no place quite as wonderful as the Pacific Northwest. Shortly after the turn of the millennium, and following a brief stint as a carpenter at The Studio Theatre in Washington D.C., he moved back to Seattle. Locally he has worked behind the scenes for the Village Theatre, Seattle Musical Theatre, Redwood Theatre, and, of course, SecondStory Repertory.


Mark Chenovick (Sound Design) I began my sound design journey splicing reel-to-reel tape together in the basement of the original Penthouse Theater on the University of Washington campus but it was my brief time in the MFA program at Utah State University, where I learned the joys of digital sound design, and subsequently, became hooked on sound design for life. Having provided composed and curated underscoring and soundscaping, original and sourced sound effects, and performance amplification services for multiple theaters across the US, I have felt the most at home at SSR. Mark Chenovick (Projection Design) has designed projections for over 100 shows in the last ten years. Prior to that he worked with CJS design, a website design and hosting company, developing custom websites for clients ranging from Draper Valley Farms to Seattle Film Group. He also co-created and ran the now defunct SeattleActor.com, a website focused on Seattle area theater, featuring audition listings, helpful articles, and show reviews. In addition to projections, Mark also designs all of the marketing materials you see at SSR including; posters, show graphics, and website. All my love to Jen. Enjoy the show!
