Maya Sugarman (Alexander) grew up in Seattle performing with and learning from some of the nation’s best artists at ACT Theatre, Book-It Repertory Theatre, 5th Avenue Theatre, and Seattle Children’s Theatre. More recent credits include productions with Fort Point Theater Channel and the American Repertory Theater Institute in Boston. After graduating from Harvard University in 2012, Maya worked in public health in Boston and New Mexico before recently returning home. Since coming back, Maya has performed in Mary’s Wedding with New Century Theatre Company and was an intern with Intiman Theatre.

Tom Mezger (Ensemble) is very excited to be making his debut at SecondStory with Alexander. From Sacramento, CA, Tom recently graduated from Boston College after studying theater arts and psychology. Favorite credits include The Three Musketeers, Closer, Spring Awakening, Jack and Jill, The 39 Steps, and an original group-devised piece entitled Wait—Is This Graded? Stephanie Spohrer (Ensemble) Stephanie, a transplant from New York, is thrilled to be in this production! Before moving to Seattle, Stephanie worked with CLIMB Theatre in Minnesota, as an actor educator, performing interactive classes for children. Stephanie was recently seen in, Out of Sterno, at Burien Actors Theatre as well as the Driftwood Players, Festival of Shorts. Favorite roles include: Myrtle Mae in Harvey; Mother in Blood Wedding; Anne in Strangers on a Train and Cindy in the world premiere of Liars and Lovers in NY. Stephanie received a BA in Theater Performance from SUNY New Paltz, NY. Thanks to Mike and her family and friends for their support!

Jessi Little (Ensemble) is excited to have just moved to the Seattle area. She is a graduate from Texas Christian University, where she earned her BFA in Theater; emphasis Musical Theater. Upon graduating, she worked professionally in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, performing with Casa Manana, WaterTower Theatre, and Circle Theatre. In the Northwest she has performed with Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre, Fort Peck Summer Theatre, Interplayers Theatre, and at Village Theatre's Festival of New Musicals. She is currently assistant directing the Salmon Bay School musical, Roald Dahl's "Willy Wonka" and teaching with Stone Soup Theatre. Carissa Meisner Smit (Mom/Ensemble) Recent appearances include The Seattle Fringe Festival (Retreat After Me), The Phoenix (Kimberly Akimbo, Best Laid Plans, Bright Ideas), Arouet (Lawfully Wedded), Historic Everett (A Christmas Carol) and SSR (Chicago). An area choreographer and director, she also steers the TIPs (Theatre of Intriguing Possibilities) program at the Edmonds Driftwood Players where she serves as President of the Board.

Curtis Jacobson (Dad/Ensemble) is excited to be back on the SSR stage in the theater for young audiences series. Most recently at SSR you saw him as Grandma in Little Red Riding Hood and Bertram the frog in Bayou Bugs. Curtis received his degree in acting from Northern Arizona University School of Performing Arts.

Elizabeth Posluns (Ensemble) is so happy to be in her first Theater for Young Audiences show here at SecondStory! She was last seen here in How to Succeed in Business Without really Trying and The Rocky Horror Show. Other favorite roles include Mayzie in Seussical (Lakewood Playhouse), Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street (ASTRA), and various ensemble roles in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Northwest Theatre Group), Guys and Dolls (SMT, TMP), Legally Blonde (SMT) and The Producers (SMT). A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NY, she is happy to be home and performing in her native Washington. Much love to Mom, Taylor, Simon-The-Dog and Dan.
