CHRISTMAS CAROL JUNIOR 2017

Based on the Novel by Charles Dickens
Adapted for the stage by Mark Chenovick
Original music and arrangements by Terence Alaric Levitt

Join us for story time at the North Pole as Mrs. Claus and her kittens bring the story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge to life in this original adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Meet all of your favorite characters as we journey through time discovering the true meaning of Christmas. Afraid of ghosts? No problem. The ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future are all portrayed by the zaniest cats in Santa's workshop - and who could possibly be afraid of a silly little kitty? Kick off the holiday season right with the SSR family and celebrate this timeless seasonal classic right here in Redmond. Photos by Michael Brunk | NWlens.com

PRODUCTION BIOGRAPHIES

David Bailey ( Marley/Christmas Present/Fezziwig) is thrilled to be making his nighttime debut before SSR audiences, having been seen by the daytime crowd in two of SSR’s past children's theater shows: 'Treasure Island' and 'Stuart Little'. Having played multiple roles in both of those shows was good training for the costume changes needed for this production of 'A Christmas Carol'! Both an actor and director, some of you may have seen David's work over the past several years at Phoenix Theatre; Woodinville Rep; Stone Soup Theater; Evergreen Family Theater, amongst others. He also, occasionally, has the pleasure of working with Last Leaf Productions' children's shows during the summertime. "Thank you all for your support of live theater in the Puget Sound region; we wouldn't be here without you! And a very, Merry Christmas to you all!"

John Clark (Ebenezer Scrooge) considers it an honor and a privilege to play this role every year here at SecondStory Rep and help bring this timeless story to life. Other roles here include Antonio in Much Ado About Nothing, Orgon in Tartuffe, Orsini Rosenburg in Amadeus, and Walter in Keely and Du. He has appeared at The Seattle Rep. Village Theatre, Empty Space, Pioneer Sq. Sound Theatre Co, and many others around town. He was last seen as Ray in Yankee Tavern at Renton Civic Theatre and before that, Dr. Stockman in Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People at Key City Public Theatre. Last summer he played Charlie “The Duck” Clench in the Seattle premier of One Man, Two Guvnors. Other favorite roles include; Mozart in Amadeus, Ellard in The Foreigner, Selsdon in Noises Off, Lord Edgar/Jane in The Mystery of Irma Vep, Rosencrantz in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, The Old Man in Fool for Love, and Clov in Samuel Beckett’s Endgame.

Vanessa Ignacio O’Francia (Christmas Past/ Martha) is a Seattle native and a woman after God’s own heart. She is so thrilled to be returning to the SecondStory stage this season. You may have seen Vanessa in some of her favorite theater productions such as SecondStory's own The Snow Queen (Gerda) and other productions such as The Dream Girls (Lorrell Robinson), and The Coming of the Messiah (Mother Mary). As she pursues the arts, Vanessa also balances her graduate studies at the UW School of Social Work and service as a Clinical Case Manager. She would like to thank the staff for this wonderful opportunity, her loving husband of 4 months for all his support, and God for pushing her to be a “lion-hearted-lamb” Hebrews 10:35-36.

Britt Boyd (Mrs. Cratchit) is delighted to return to SecondStory's mainstage, where she most recently performed in Anne of Green Gables and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Other favorite local credits include The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods (Seattle Musical Theatre), Mrs. Armstrong in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Seattle Public Theatre) and Martha in The Secret Garden (Kitsap Forest Theater). She has also performed locally with Village Theatre, ACT, Living Voices, Theater Schmeater and STAGEright. Cheers!

Reed Viydo (Fred) is ecstatic to be in his first SecondStory Rep production! Born and raised in Seattle, Reed is eager to continue to get involved in theater throughout the Pacific Northwest. Past credits include Gary (Noises Off), Lockstock (Urinetown), Peter (Jesus Christ Superstar), Stephen (Line). Special thanks to all his loved ones for their continued support, especially Poppy!
