Margaret Wise Brown’s classic story Goodnight Moon has been loved and passed down through the generations for more than 60 years. The bunny in the blue and white striped PJs wants to delay going to bed for as long as possible, so he says goodnight to every object in his room – and beyond. In this new musical adaptation by Chad Henry, the objects and characters jump off the pages, and the bunny’s bedroom comes to life. Suddenly, the cat and the fiddle, red balloon, clocks and socks, kittens and mittens, and the cow jumping over the moon are just a few of the many that spring into action. Rebecca Cort (Ensemble) Professional SSR debut! This is Rebecca's first Theater for Young Audiences show and she can't think of a better way to begin her post-grad career! Recent credits: The Shape of Things (Student Theatre Productions), This is Modern Art (WWU Hip Hop Theatre Weekend), Nunsense/A Little Night Music (Western Summer Theatre), Commedia Intensive (WWU), How I Learned to Drive (WWU Mainstage). Squeaky love to the fam, Lauren, Dyl, the GNO squad, as well as the wonderful SSR and GM team!
Chelsea Walker (Ensemble) Chelsea is always excited to work on a new show with SecondStory! Goodnight Moon is no exception. This time around, she's been able to explore multiple characters like a Dog, a Fairy, a Clock, Papa Bear, the Moon, and even a Red Balloon! Chelsea's other Theater for Young Audiences credits include Little Red in Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel in Rapunzel, a cat and an elf in A Christmas Carol Jr, Jeremy Jacob in How I Became a Pirate, and a glamorous Squirelle in Elephant and Piggy: We Are in a Play!
Adrienne Baltz (Ensemble) is delighted to return to SSR's TYA stage. Most recently she went to Rome (Curious George and the Golden Meatball), but she has also been a precocious mouse (Stuart Little), and a dog with a hat problem (Go,Dog. Go!). As always, bones to Zippy!
Max Lopuszynski (Bunny) is completely stoked to be making his SecondStory Rep debut with this incredible team! Slowly, but surely, making a name for himself around town, he's recently been fortunate enough to be able to perform with Bainbridge Performing Arts, Basement Theatrics, ArtsWest, Seattle Opera, Drama Dock, Last Leaf Productions, and more! His favorite credits include: Big Fish (Karl), Spring Awakening (Georg), [title of show] (Hunter), I and You (Anthony), The Curious Savage (Jeffery), and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Charlie Brown). He is also a former Irene Ryan scholarship, and BroadwayWorld award nominee. Up next: The Christmas Carol Rag with Burien Actors Theatre. Special thanks to "Jaimee."
Hayley Ewerz (Dish & Spoon, Tooth Fairy) is proud to be returning onstage to SecondStory’s Theater for Young Audiences after appearing in Fancy Nancy! You may also recognize her as the crazy kitten in a Hello Kitty onesie from A Christmas Carol Jr. Since moving to Seattle five years ago from Dallas, she has performed with Village Theatre, SecondStory’s mainstage, Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, Renton Civic Theatre, Seattle Musical Theatre, and Driftwood Players. She also sings with Kirkland Choral Society, loves to travel, occasionally runs, and says “y’all” as much as she can! Special dedication to The Squolf, cast, and crew for their remarkable talent. Love to her husband JW and puppy Augie!
Madonna Kilpatrick (Ensemble) a puppeteer, improv and stand up comedian who is thrilled to be making her debut at SecondStory Rep! After studying theater and music since childhood, Madonna trained as a cultural anthropologist at WSU while minoring in theater and directorial studies. Madonna currently works in data research, and serves as a docent at Seattle's Museum of Popular Culture.
MEET THE PRODUCTION TEAM
Barbara Cawley (Stage Manager) is very excited to be working on her 3rd TYA production at SecondStory Repertory. A graduate of Western Washington University; she has stage managed over 15 productions in the last 3 years as well as assistant stage managing, lighting, run crew, and various other odd jobs. Recently you may have seen her at Cafe Nordo, Intiman, Centerstage, or Seattle Immersive Theatre. Other SecondStory credits include The Barber's Wife and Stuart Little.
Aimee Hong (Music Director) is thrilled to be working with SSR again! Last seen at SSR Music Directing "How I Became a Pirate". She has MD'd for Bainbridge Performing Arts, Bellevue College, and Renton Civic Theatre. Aimee was also a Teaching Artist for the Seattle Opera and the Seattle Symphony. During the day you can find her teaching with Bellevue College, Studio East, or Village Kidstage. Love to Strongbad. Enjoy the show!
Amanda Headley (Costume Designer) is delighted to be returning to SecondStory. Recent credits include The Fox Tales, Cabildo, Urinetown, Avenue Q, and The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Shoreline Community College, The Nerd & Sylvia at the Woodinville Rep, The Dybbuk at Seattle Jewish Theater, Stuart Little and The Last Five Years at Second Story Rep., and Beauty and the Beast for Evergreen Family Theater. Amanda has a fashion design degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.
